Terms of Service

Last updated: July 9, 2026

These terms describe how Suffix Studio ("we," "us") works with clients on website design, branding, and related services. By hiring us or using this website, you agree to them. We keep this in plain English on purpose. Your specific project details, deliverables, and pricing live in your written estimate or proposal, which works together with these terms.

Our services

We design and build websites, branding, and digital marketing materials for small businesses. Every project is scoped in writing before work begins. The written estimate or proposal describes what is included; anything not listed there is not included by default and can be added as a change order.

Estimates and payment

Estimates, including our online calculator, are good-faith ranges, not final quotes. Final pricing is confirmed in your written proposal. Projects begin with a deposit as stated in your proposal, with the balance due at launch unless your proposal says otherwise. Deposits cover work performed and are non-refundable once work has begun. We may pause work on accounts with unpaid balances.

Revisions and changes

Your proposal includes a stated number of revision rounds. A revision refines work within the agreed scope. New pages, new features, or a change of direction after approval are outside scope and will be quoted separately as a change order before we do the work, so there are never surprise charges.

Client responsibilities

Projects move at the speed of feedback. You agree to provide the content, images, credentials, and approvals we need in a timely way, and to review work when we send it. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of content you supply, including having rights to any text, photos, or logos you give us.

If we can't reach you

Sometimes life gets busy. If we need your input or approval and cannot reach you, here is how it works: after 14 days without a response to our requests, the project is paused and its timeline no longer applies. After 30 consecutive days without a response, we may close the project as delivered. When a project closes this way, work completed to that point is considered accepted, payments made are non-refundable, and any balance owed for completed work becomes due. Restarting a closed project is treated as new work, scheduled around our current commitments, and may require a restart fee stated at that time. We will always attempt to contact you at least twice, using the contact details you provided, before closing a project.

Ownership

Once your project is paid in full, you own your finished website, its content, and your brand materials. Your domain name, email, and business accounts are registered in your name and belong to you from day one. We retain the right to display the work in our portfolio and marketing, and we retain ownership of our internal tools, processes, and any pre-existing materials we bring to the project.

Care plans

Care plans are optional month-to-month services billed in advance, covering the items listed in your plan. Either of us can cancel with written notice before the next billing date. Care plans do not include out-of-scope redesigns or new features, which are quoted separately. If a care plan lapses, we are not responsible for issues arising while the site is unmaintained.

Third-party services

Websites rely on outside services such as hosting, domain registration, and form processing. Those services belong to their providers, have their own terms and fees, and can change their pricing or features. We choose reputable providers and set them up correctly, but we do not control them and are not responsible for their outages, changes, or fees.

Timelines

Timeline estimates are given in good faith and depend on the project scope and on receiving your content and feedback promptly. Delays in client feedback extend timelines accordingly. We are not liable for delays caused by third-party services or events outside our control.

No guarantees of results

We build professional, fast, well-structured websites. We do not and cannot guarantee specific business outcomes, sales figures, or search engine rankings, and no such guarantee should be implied.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific work giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Riverside County, California, after a good-faith attempt to resolve it directly first.

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we will post the new version here with a new "last updated" date. The terms in effect when your project was proposed are the ones that apply to that project.
